Stephen Newton’s previous documentary “Outcasts: Surviving the Culture of Rejection,” is now available for free viewing online at: cultureofrejection.org After its release in 2014, “Outcasts” was aired twice on ETPBS and was selected for screening at four U.S. film festivals.
“One Night in January: Counting the Cost of Homelessness,” explores the history, causes, and economic and emotional impact of homelessness.

Paul Vanderbeck is a multiple award-winning composer and music producer. He is best known for the musical images he produced for hundreds of TV and radio clients, including the international award-winning jingle I Want My Baby Back, which was picked up by Chili’s and featured by Charles Osgood on CBS Sunday Morning in 2006 as one of the Top 10 jingles of all time. Vanderbeck has worked with many notable artists, including Johnny Cash, Melissa Manchester, Carole Bayer Sager, and Peter Allen. He composed and produced the score for “Outcasts: Surviving the Culture of Rejection.” and provided sound design for “Dark As Night”, a short narrative film.

Jeb Johnson is a 2016 Digital Media graduate of East Tennessee State University. Although he is DP on “One Night in January,” Jeb’s work has taken him in many different directions from government TV to reality TV, technical directing of college sports on ESPN 3 and Fox Sports Southeast to producing short films. like “Inheritance,” He currently lives in Los Angeles pursuing his passion in film making by interning with Stept Productions.

Sergei Prokhnevskiy is a graduate of East Tennessee University and senior graphic designer for the Fox Sports Network in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has collaborated on several RAZAR films including, The RCAM Story, We’re All About People, LiteFoods (2015 AAF Silver Award Winner), Outcasts: Surviving the Culture of Rejection, and most recently, Dark As Night, a short narrative film and part one of a trilogy.

Hailing from the hills of East Tennessee, Abigail Williamson studies history and film at Milligan College. Although “One Night,” is her first feature length film, she has done independent photography and film work for family, friends, and on the mission field. In 2017, Abigail will be taking the year off from her studies to do mission work in Africa. She looks forward to working on “One Night” and knows the opportunity will aid her in personal endeavors to document and raise awareness while in Africa.

Tessa Klingensmith, a Pittsburgh native and a current resident of Bristol, Tennessee is a graduate of King University with a degree in Digital Media Art and Design. Her experience in film ranges from set photographer, to production assistant, to director, with one of her shorts being a feature in a local juried film festival. She currently does work as a freelance photographer and videographer. We’re thrilled to have Tessa with us for her second project with Razar Films.

Derrick Von Kundra moved to the area in the summer of 2014 as a fellow for the Highlander Research and Education Center. He rediscovered his passion for film and worked with Anthony Flaccavento to develop, film, and edit the YouTube show Take 5 with Tony. He works with the local non-profit Appalachian Sustainable Development where he films, and edits all of their videos. His new YouTube series, Growing Organically for Wholesale Markets, helps train farmers in the Organic Growers Group.
