After watching Noam Chomsky’s documentary, “Requiem for the American Dream,” on Netflix, we knew he had to be in our film, so we contacted him and were granted a 30 minute interview.

We never told him when we sat with our camera in his crowded, book-strewn office that we had driven for two days for 30 minutes of his time. But he couldn’t have been more gracious, and humble. We were in such a rush, we came away with poor sound and picture…real sins and evidence perhaps of the grueling two day drive.

Minutes after the interview, we were headed back to Tennessee as if we’d just filmed in the next town.

The trip was worth it.

.James Worley started Homeless Lives Matter to raise awareness of the tragedy that is homelessness. He has been live streaming the unfolding tragedy of homelessness to YouTube from cities like New York and Los Angeles as well as his hometown of Tampa. Without a crew, equipment or funding, he captures footage on the streets with his smart phone and streams it live to his YouTube channel.

In and out of homelessness himself, Worley is acutely aware of how devastating it is to live on the streets and his voice over comments drive home that homelessness is not about to end anytime soon, mostly because the US, the richest country in the world, lacks the political will to end the epidemic.
