One Night in January: Counting the Cost of Homelessness is Stephen Newton’s second feature length documentary film. His first, Outcasts: Surviving the Culture of Rejection was released in 2014. Outcasts reveals why the United States incarcerates more people than any other nation. The film may be viewed free online at cultureofrejection.org.

Stephen is an independent filmmaker based in Southern Appalachia.

Jeb Johnson is a 2016 Digital Media graduate of East Tennessee State University. In addition to acting as DP on “One Night in January,” Jeb’s work has taken him in many different directions— government TV, reality TV, ESPN 3 college sports technical director, Fox Sports Southeast, and writer, director and producer of the narrative short film, “Inheritance,”

He currently lives and works in Nashville.

Tessa Klingensmith, a Pittsburgh native and a current resident of Bristol, Tennessee is a graduate of King University with a degree in Digital Media Art and Design. Her experience in film includes, set photographer, production assistant, and director. Her first short film was screened at the 2015 PUSH film festival in Bristol. She currently works as a freelance photographer and videographer.
